Charles H. Grubb, 89, passed away April 6, 2013 in his Bern Township residence.
His wife, June E. (Whalley) Grubb, died June 20, 2007.
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late William H. and Katie (Yerger)Grubb.
He was the president of Grubb, Matt & Reider, Inc. for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that he worked as the manager in the drapery department of Sears Roebuck & Co., from 1950 to 1970.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.
He was a member of the Bern Township Lions Club and a volunteer at Berks Heim, Keystone-Miller Blood Center, and the Berks Visiting Nurse Association.
He is survived by sons Dr. Charles Taylor Grubb, Siler City, N.C., and David W., husband of Mary Ann (Schaeffer) Grubb, Wernersville, a daughter, Margaret G. Romanies, Leesport, and grandchildren Jill (Romanies) Werley, wife of Kyle Werley, Leesport; Joseph Romanies, Philadelphia; Karen Grubb, Rockville, Md.; Alison Grubb, Sanford, N.C.; and the memory of Garrett Taylor Grubb.
Services will be Thursday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Family visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bern Township Lions Club, P. O. Box 236, Leesport, PA 19533.
