Charles E. Goas

Charles E. Goas, 81, died Sept. 23 in his residence at Merritt Parkway, Wilshire.

He was the husband of Marian D. (Machamer) Goas.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, he was a son of the late Elmer and Bertha (Klingeman) Goas.

Goas was employed for 15 years as an accountant by General Battery Corp., retiring in 1986.

He was a 1939 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a 1941 graduate of the Reading Business Institute with an associate degree in accounting.

Goas was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring, where he had been a consistory member and treasurer for 15 years.

Goas is also survived by a daughter, Carol E. (Goas) Rhoads, West Lawn.

Other survivors include a sister, M. Neda (Goas) Troxell, Yardville, N.J.; and a grandson.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
