Charles G. Hiester

Charles G. Hiester, 84, of Acorn Drive, Muhlenberg Township and formerly of Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale, died August 25th at 9:50 am in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township, where he had been since December 31st.

He was the husband of Doris J. (Kaylor) Hiester a resident at ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Gabriel A. and Jennie E. (Gass) Hiester.

He was a self employed farmer for 49 years, farming in Muhlenberg Township and Ontelaunee Township, retiring in 1984.

Hiester was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

He was a former Deacon and Elder at Grace Alsace United Church of Christ, Hyde Park.

Hiester was a life member in Lodge #62 F & A.M., West Reading; Reading Consistory and the Rajah Temple.

He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia Hiester McCarty of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include three grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Rev. Mark E. Brophy officiating. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
