Charles E. Smith

Charles E. Smith, 92, of Spring Twp. died October 11, 2014, in ManorCare, Sinking Spring.

His wife, June M. (Reed) Smith died February 13; they were married for 71 years.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Ella Smith.

Charles was a graduate of Reading High School.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Guadal Canal for the US Army Air Corps.

Charles was a general manager for multiple local automobile dealerships from 1946 to the mid 1980s. He went on to be a self employed insurance agent for over 15 years retiring in 1998.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Gil), Sinking Spring and his estranged son and family. Two grandchildren: Jeff (Tori) Gehr and Troy (Lisa) Gehr and four great-grandchildren: Gavin, Mina, Tyler and Alexis also survive him.
