Charles E. Aulenbach, 86, formerly of 405 East Main Street, Kutztown, died November 5th at 11:00 am in Kutztown Manor, where he had been since October 23rd.
He was the widower of Evelyn M. (Manbeck) Aulenbach, who died March 13, 2001.
Born in Alsace Township, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Hettie (Manwiller) Aulenbach.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.
Aulenbach was a farmer for 20 years in Richmond Township and last worked as a laborer for 10 years at Deka Battery, Lyons, retiring in 1983.
He was a Army Veteran of WWII.
Aulenbach was a member of the Fleetwood Grange #1839.
He is survived by a daughter, Jean (Aulenbach) Hugo of Kutztown and three sons, Harold of Mertztown, Richard and James, both of Kutztown.
Other survivors include one brother, Louis of Fleetwood and five sisters, Esther (Aulenbach) Dautrich of Muhlenberg Township, Betty (Aulenbach) Strause of Fleetwood, Helen (Aulenbach) Mayhew of East Greenbush, N.Y., Dorothy (Aulenbach) Stitzer of Fleetwood and Ada (Aulenbach) Rohrbach of South Carolina.
There are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11:00 am in St. Paul's U.C.C., 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522. Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner-Daniel officiating. Viewing Monday 10:00 am until time of service in the church. Burial will be in Zion Maxatawny Church Cemetery, Maxatawny Township. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C. at the above address. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
