Charles W. "Chuck" Bell, a retired Wyomissing High School science teacher, died of natural causes March 10 at 8 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient five days.
Bell, 65, of Lawrence Avenue, Lincoln Park, was the husband of Jeanne H. (Frantz) Bell.
Bell was employed as a science teacher at Wyomissing High School from 1964 until his retirement as department chairman in 1996. He had been employed from 1960 to 1964 as a science teacher at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Lancaster County.
Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of Clara (Coffman) Bell, West Lawn, and the late Harry E. Bell.
Bell was a 1955 graduate of Wilson High School and a 1959 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He received his master's degree in education from Temple University, Philadelphia, in 1965.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.
Bell was an Army veteran.
He is also survived by a daughter, Deborah J. Bell-Slusser, Germantown, Md.
Other survivors include a sister, Mary Lou (Bell) Myers, Warminster, Bucks County.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
