Charles R. Beck

Charles R. Beck, 83, passed away January 27, 2010 in his Reading residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Howard and Hanna Beck.

Charles was the husband of Nancy (Russo) Beck.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII.

Charles was employed by the Empire Wrecking Company and Candyland Express where he enjoyed being a truck driver.

He was a member of the Goodwill Fire Company.

Charles was a loving husband, devoted father and the best poppop to his great-granddaughter Abriana. He thought the world of her and she was the apple of his eye.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tami, wife of David Schwartz and Linda Poyner, companion to Robert Hutchins, Poconos; and a brother, Paul, husband of Pauline Beck; and a sister, Dorothy Brown all of Pricetown; Two grandchildren, Michele Welliver, VA and Denise Vogrin, Northhampton; and a great-granddaughter, Abriana Reiss; and a niece, Nancy Machemer, Reading also survive him.

Memorial Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 in the funeral home.
