Catherine M. Strausbaugh

Catherine M. McCall Strausbaugh, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed into God's arms on September 30, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD after a long and brave stand against cancer. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her warmth and kindness.

She is survived by her husband Roger L. Strausbaugh of Cumru Township, with whom she enjoyed 42 years of marriage.

Catherine was born September 4, 1942 to the late Charles McCall and Sophie Wielehowski McCall in Philadelphia. She graduated from St. Boniface Business High School in Philadelphia in 1960.

As a young woman, she was employed with the U.S. State Department as the Secretary to the Ambassador to Panama. It was there that she met and became engaged to her husband Roger.

Catherine was a skilled businesswoman. She founded and managed her own business, MSI Incorporated, in Birdsboro.

She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.

Catherine was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Millmont.

In addition to her husband, Catherine left 3 surviving children and 7 grandsons: Amy Strausbaugh Noss with her husband Henry, and 4 sons Hunter, Riley, Michael, and Jared of Sinking Spring; Tara Strausbaugh Flohr with her husband Scott, and 3 sons Davis, Andrew, and Colin of Exeter Township; and Roger L. Strausbaugh II with his wife, Emily of State College.

Also surviving are six siblings and their families: Steven M. McCall of North Wales; Suzanne O'Rourke of Coatesville; Marybeth Barth of Philadelphia; Mildred Lancaster of Niceville, FL; Margaret Hollinshead of Philadephia, and Monica Andris of Doylestown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 9 at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 501 Summit Avenue, Millmont. There will be no public viewing.
