Catherine W. Spath

Catherine W. Spath, 56, of Buckingham Drive, Wyomissing, died following a battle with cancer Sept. 10 at 2:20 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where she had been a patient since Aug. 28.

She was the wife of Albert F. Spath.

Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of Catherine T. (Hock) Wilhelm, Highlandtown, Md., and the late William T. Wilhelm Sr.

Spath had been employed for 30 years as a financial analyst by Lucent Technologies Inc., Muhlenberg Township, retiring May 3, 1995.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Spath was a graduate of Seton High School, Baltimore.

She is also survived by three brothers: Milton E. Wilhelm, Wyomissing; Gerard G. Wilhelm, New Freedom, York County; and William T. Wilhelm Jr., Forest Hill, Md.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Burial will be Saturday in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
