Catherine J. Reese

Catherine J. Reese, 93, died June 23, 2015, in The Highlands at Wyomissing.

Her husband, James D. Reese, died in 1994; they had been married for 50 years.

Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late William and Jenny (Johns) Rees.

Catherine was a realtor for many years and served as the president of the Union County Board of Realtors in NJ. She also taught real estate at Union County Community College.

She moved to Wyomissing in 1985 and became an active volunteer at Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, Wyomissing Library, and The Reading Public Museum. A world traveler, she loved music, the Jersey Shore, needle work, real estate and her church.

Catherine is survived by her children, Karen R., wife of Dr. Peter H. Thomas, Wyomissing and Dr. James H., husband of Sheila P. Reese, Monrovia, MD. There is one brother, William Rees, Pompton Plains, NJ; five grandchildren, Kristin (Thomas), wife of Antony Rutherford, Melbourne, Australia; Brian, husband of Elizabeth Thomas, Collingswood, NJ; Andrew, husband of Amanda Thomas, Los Angeles, CA; and Caitlin S. Reese, Dallas, TX; and two great grandchildren, Lachlan and Connor Rutherford. Her granddaughter-in-law, Grazina Jagucianskaite, Monrovia, MD also survives her.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher P. Reese and her sister, Ruth Edwards.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, 1064 Penn Ave., Wyomissing, PA 19610.
