Catherine Monk

Catherine (Hahn) Monk, 97, died October 21, 2010 in her Maidencreek Township residence.

She was the wife of Thomas N. Monk, who died October 15, 1991.

Born in her Reading residence on September 16, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Hahn and Catherine (Evans) Hahn-Wagner.

She was a graduate of Reading High School and Kutztown State College.

Catherine was a 1st grade school teacher for 35 years at Glenside School in the Reading School District.

She is survived by a sister, Mabel A. (Wagner), widow of Robert W. Loose of Muhlenberg Township.

Catherine was predeceased by three sisters: Ida, Helen and Margaret.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale, with the Rev. Barry L. Moyer officiating.
