Catherine C. Devine

Catherine C. Devine, 94, formerly of Wyomissing and Reading, died September 9, 2007 in the Mifflin Center, Shillington.

She was the wife of the late James E. Devine who died on March 15, 1967. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Anna B. (Hesse) Townsend.

Catherine was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Reading.

She was employed for many years as a secretary at Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance, Reading, retiring on March 15, 1977.

Catherine was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

She was a past Secretary for Legion of Mary and past President, Secretary and Treasurer to Catholic Woman's Club, Reading.

Catherine is survived by a sister Mary T. (Townsend) Cain, Silver Springs, Md.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00am. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Philadelphia.
