Catherine M. Bensinger

Catherine M. "Cass" Bensinger, 95, formerly of Wyomissing Hills passed away May 22, 2016 in Columbia Cottage.

She was the beloved wife of Harry W. Bensinger, who died April 16, 1978.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Matilda (Husser) Hildebrand.

Catherine was employed by Willson Safety Products as an assembler for 15 years until retiring in 1983.

She enjoyed playing bingo, long rides in the country, gardening and bird watching.

Catherine is survived by her children, Stephen H., husband of Debora (Limpus) Bensinger, Sinking Spring, and Carol A., wife of Stephen Murphy, Martinez, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Marguerite G. Heffner, Temple; four grandchildren, Dr. Brian, husband of Lisa (Wilson) Murphy, Cleveland, OH; Sean Murphy, Augusta, GA; Amy Bensinger, a nurse in Naples, FL; Andrew Bensinger, atteding medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Lydia Katherine and Abigail Reese, daughters of Dr. Brian Murphy.

She is predeceased by seven siblings, Mae Barr, Marie Means, Helen Jeschke, Gertrude Wolf, Edna T. Seghetti, Leona R. Hildebrand and Irene A. Evans.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be from 12 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
