Catherine M. Bates

Catherine "Honey Girl" M. (Hoffa) Bates, 78, of Wyomissing, entered into peace on February 12, 2008 in Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Ralph S. Bates died October 27, 1994.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Catherine (Nordan) Hoffa.

Catherine was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

She loved collecting porcelain dolls. Another passion of Catherine's was caring for animals of all types and on occasion took them in as her own.

Catherine was employed for fourteen years as a sales clerk in the men's department at the former Pomeroy's, Reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Catherine M. Cullen-Zaorski, Stony Creek; two brothers, Richard Hoffa, FL and John, husband of Janelle Hoffa, Robesonia; and a granddaughter Andrea L., wife of Michael T. Heist.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
