Catharine J. Guest

Catharine J. "Kitty" Guest, 80, of Wyomissing Hills, died January 16, 2007 in Reading Hospital where she had been a patient since January 2.

Her husband Dr. Robert R. Guest died September 30, 1977.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Edward and M. Catharine (Hoffman) Briner.

Catharine had worked in her husband's podiatry practice prior to raising her family.

She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1944.

Catharine was a member of Holy Cross United Methodist Church, Reading.

She enjoyed her friends at Breakfast Club and she had a love for golf, travel, crossword puzzles and cooking.

Catharine is survived by one son, Christopher R. husband of Cheryl A. Guest, Penn Twp. and two daughters, Marcy A. Guest and Sarah R. Guest, both of Wyomissing Hills.

There is also one sister, Ann (Briner) Askin, Sinking Spring. Two grandchildren, Amy Rogers and Ian Rogers and many nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Betty McGuire and Nancy Balliet. Catharine was also predeceased by her companion of 15 years, Hendrick Wentink.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
