Carrie Irene Moyer, 94, of Muhlenberg Township died June 30, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem.

She was the wife of the late Stanley Theodore Moyer, former Berks County Fire Marshall, who died June 1, 1976.

Born September 9, 1913 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William Winfield and Emma Rebecca (Feather) Bucks.

Carrie was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills as a floor lady before World War II when it turned into the Parachute Factory, where she helped make parachutes for the service men.

She was a very active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Riverside.

Carrie was also active in numerous women's auxiliaries including, Women's Auxiliary to the Fireman's Association of the State of Pennsylvania. She was also a volunteer at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Surviving is a daughter, Joanne Emma Moyer of Allentown.

In addition there are two sisters, Ruth (Bucks) Kline of Wyomissing, Evelyn Marie (Bucks) Martin of Reading and two brothers, Robert Daniel Bucks of Wyomissing and Richard Harold Bucks of Reading.

Carrie is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews and 15 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four siblings: Dorothy M. (Bucks) Levan, Esther Edna (Bucks) Hufford, Grace Elizabeth (Bucks) Reichart and William Charles Bucks.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter.
