Carolyn Williams, 78, of Douglass Township, passed away on March 26, 2025 at Reading Hospital. Born in Philadelphia on September 21, 1946, she was the daughter of Daniel Ippolito and Margaret Fascenda Ippolito. She was the devoted wife of Robert G. Williams, to whom she was married for 22 years before his passing in 2014.
Carolyn was a 1964 graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia. She continued her education at Immaculata College and Penn State University. She worked for Downingtown Area School District and Cignature Hospitality before spending over twenty years as the Borough Manager of New Morgan Borough, where she spent most of her time keeping the boys in line.
Carolyn was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan. She inspired a love of reading in her children and grandchildren and instilled in them a love for animals. Family game nights were her favorite way to spend her free time, and she passed on her love of cooking and baking to her loved ones. Above all, her greatest joy came from being a grandmother.
In addition to her beloved sister, Linda Maimone, of Voorhees, NJ, she is survived by her children Jodi Greene-Kelly and her husband Brian, of Birdsboro; Jill Greene, of Wyomissing; and Sean Greene and his wife Susan, of Broomhall; her grandchildren: Annie Greene and her partner Pedro Santos, Tara Rentschler and her husband Austin, Jared Fetterman and his wife Brynn, Jason Fetterman, and Leah Grace Kay; and her great-grandchildren Hayden, Kora, and Lucas. She is also survived by two stepchildren: Danelle Schoemaker and her husband Duane, and Chris Williams and his wife Cayce, and step-grandchildren Tempest, Elijah, Dylan, and Ella. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Frank Maimone. Carolyn was adored by her family and friends and her cat, Mr. Whiskers, and will be so terribly missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.
