Carolyn R. Yerger

Carolyn R. Yerger, 79, of Bernville, died November 2, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Roy H. Yerger who died April 25, 2001.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Helen (Fausnacht) Zillhardt.

Carolyn was a 1950 graduate of Reading High School and attended West Chester University.

She was employed as a waitress with Plaza Dairyland, Muhlenberg Township for 17 years, until her retirement.

She was a member of Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ, Strausstown and a former long-time member of Good Shepherd U.C.C., Tuckerton, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Carolyn played the violin for school musicals at Schuylkill Valley and Muhlenberg High Schools for a total of 20 years.

She lived in Davenport, FL from 1992 until 2005.

Surviving are four children: Diane, wife of Deane Yerger of Reading; Ronald, husband of Michelle Yerger of Harrisburg; Russell, husband of Lisa Yerger of Bernville and Elaine, wife of Robert Trout of Temple.

Other survivors include seven grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd U.C.C., 170 Tuckerton Road, Reading, PA 19605. A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
