Carole Marie Rockett

Carole Marie (Parr) Rockett, 72, formerly of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, died March 14, 2011 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 16, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Francis Ward Parr and Elizabeth Katherine (Campbell) Parr.

She was a 1957 graduate of Holy Spirit High School and graduated from Miserecordia School of Nursing.

Carole was employed as a Registered Nurse for 20 years with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

She was a member and past regional president of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses.

Carole is survived by five children: Gregory W., husband of Anna (Basto) Rockett of Arlington, VA; Jeffrey P., husband of Michelle L. (Pepe) Rockett of Lower Heidelberg Township; Deborah L. (Rockett), wife of Theodore Mirenda of Coatsville; Douglas J., husband of Michelle (Adema) of White Lake Michigan and Katryn E. Rockett, wife of Peter Wicker of Hoschton, GA.

Other survivors include a sister, Marilyn (Parr) Thomas, widow of John Thomas Sr. of Forked River, NJ and 11 grandchildren: Alexandra, Raeanna, Julia, Theodore, Dominic, Laura, Liam, Vincent, Carmella, Grace and Simon Peter.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Eileen (Parr) Brown and her husband, William Brown.

Carole was very passionate about her children and nursing. She enjoyed world travel, photography, cooking and was an avid tennis player.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 Saint Albans Drive, Whitfield.

At a later date, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Atlantic City, NJ, followed by a burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, NJ.
