Carol H. Small

Carol H. Small, 70, of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10:48 pm in Manor Care Health Services, Laureldale where she was a resident since February 23rd.

Her husband, John R. (J.R.) Small, passed away on October 7, 2001.

Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Ann (Armstrong) Herman.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals, last practicing at S. Martha Manor in Downingtown. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by her Son: John R. Small, II and his wife Susan with whom she last resided. She is also survived by the grandchildren she cared for: Myrra R., Mayven R. and Jayden R.

A Memorial Service will be held in St. John's United Church of Christ, 3713 Pricetown Road, Fleetwood, Pa. 19522 on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 4:00 pm. An additional Memorial service and burial will be scheduled in Chambersburg. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center, 2500 Bernville Road, Reading, Pa. 19605 or to the church at the address above.
