Carol E. Schrift

Carol E. Schrift, 84, of Mohrsville, passed away August 1, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Clara (Finnegan) Pudliner. Carol was the spouse of Darryl G. Schrift, Sr., with whom she shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.

After graduating from high school, Carol pursued a career in nursing and completed the education and training required to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her career, she provided compassionate care while working at Berks Heim and Penn Knoll.

Carol expressed her love through cooking and baking, delighting her family with countless homemade meals and treats. Food was her love language, and she always made sure everyone who gathered around her table was well fed and cared for. Her Christmas nut rolls, pineapple cookies, and apple pies will be dearly missed. Carol adored her grandchildren and found great joy in spending time with them and shopping for them. She also loved visiting the beach, especially Ocean City, Maryland.

In addition to her spouse, Darryl, Carol is survived by her sons, Darryl G. Schrift, Jr. (Pam), of Ridgeley, WV, and Gary L. Schrift (Kathy), of Alum Bank, PA. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Michael Schrift (Hannah), Michele Luu (Chau), Lauren Neely (Nathan), and Alexander Schrift. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Hattie, Lincoln, Caden, Carter, Tristan, and Britain, as well as her siblings: Arlene Harrison (Al), John Pudliner, and Rick Pudliner (Karen).

Services will be held at a later date.
