Carol A. Gehrer

Carol A. Gehrer, 68, died January 20, 2007 in her West Lawn residence.

Her husband Robert F. Gehrer, died September 20, 1985.

Born in Olyphant, Lackawanna County, she was the daughter of the late Dominick A. and Helen C. (Ceccoli) Cruciani.

She was a 1956 graduate of Olyphant High School and a 1959 graduate of Mercy Hospital, Scranton, earning her degree as a Registered Nurse.

Carol was a Registered Nurse for Atlantic City Hospital, Reading Hospital, Wyomissng Lodge and Wernersville State Hospital, before finishing her career at the Caron Foundation, where she retired in 1986.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Survivors include one son, Eric M. Gehrer, West Lawn and one daughter, Helen S. wife of Daniel Capodanno, Claymont, DE. There are also two brothers, Dr. Dominick A. Cruciani, Jr., Clarks Green, PA and Peter J. Cruciani, Blakely, PA. Five grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by one son Christopher R. Gehrer who died September 15, 1997.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C.C. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Edward J.
