Carmen Cardinal

Carmen "Bubbles" Cardinal, 88, formerly of West Reading, passed away August 19, 2008 in the Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Bethlehem.

He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Schollenberger) who died on November 10, 2002.

Born in Bristol, he was a son of the late Thomas and Margarite (DiGiacomo) Cardinal.

He was employed by the former American Chain and Cable Company for 21 years and the U.S. Post Office as a mailman for 17 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a second baseman for the West Reading Cowboys softball team.

Carmen was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Carmen is survived by two sons, Ronald, husband of Judy Cardinal, Allentown, and Donald, husband of Jean Cardinal, Nazareth.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mary Piscitelli, Sinking Spring; Dolores Harter, Wernersville; Evelyn Fick, Blandon; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11:00a.m. in Glad Tidings Assembly of God 1110 Snyder Rd., West Lawn, PA 19609. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Local Chapter, 501 Washington St. Suite 801, Reading, PA 19601. Edward J.
