Carmella T. Graeff

Carmella T. "Mel" Graeff, 78, formerly of Reading, passed away May 19, 2012 in her Port Orange, FL residence.

Born January 20, 1934 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Frances (Piro) Torcivia.

Mel was employed as an electronics assembler with AT&T and Lucent Technologies for over 10 years.

A Red Hat Lady, she was an active member in her community and had many friends in both Port Orange and Reading.

She adored Florida's warm beaches and sun.

Mel was happy in her community and loved and was loved by her neighbors.

An infectously upbeat person, whom people were drawn to, she loved her family and her beloved dog, Bear.

Mel was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.

Surviving are her three children: Mark S. Graeff of Lancaster; Pattiann Lins of Laureldale and Diane M., wife of Todd S. Young of West Lawn.

Other survivors include her two sisters: Marie, wife of William Minns of Muhlenberg Township and Port Orange, FL and Nancy, wife of Ralph Conner of Port Orange, FL.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Mel was predeceased by four siblings: Rose Leone, Charles Torcivia, Samuel Torcivia and Anthony Torcivia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
