Carlos J. Fernandez

Carlos J. Fernandez, 61, of Wyomissing, died September 1, 2008 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Milagros (Viera) Fernandez whom he was married to for 30 years.

Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, he was the son of Arinda (Zimanca) and the late Cesar Fernandez.

He was employed by Mrs. Smith's Pies, retiring in 1998.

Mr. Fernandez served in the Colombian Military Service.

Carlos was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed camping.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Javier Rivera, Cesar Fernandez, and three daughters, Luz Viera, Maritza Rivera, and Ruth Rivera.

Other survivors include three brothers, Mario Fernandez, Colombia, Libardo Fernandez, Colombia, and Julio Fernandez, New York, and two sisters, Maritza Castilla, New Jersey, and Ruth Abdellah-Cintron, Reading.

There are thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews who survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Church, S. 5th Street, Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
