Carlos Rafael Diaz

Carlos Rafael Diaz, 64, of West Lawn, passed away March 12, 2013 in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.

He was the loving husband of Carol A. (Haller) Diaz, whom he married 42 years ago on November 28, 1970.

Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Rafael Diaz and Porfidia Rodriguez.

He was a steel mill operator for over 41 years, retiring from Hofmann Industries, Sinking Spring, in 2011.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: John S., husband of Amy Haller; Carmen, wife of William Massie and Angie Diaz, all of Reading. Also surviving are seven siblings: Miguel, Marguerite, Zenaida, Luz, Miriam, Amparo and Gloria. Five grandchildren: Eric, Kaylene, Kris, William and Alex and two great granddaughters: Milonee and Jaymee also survive him.

Carlos was predeceased by three brothers: Victor, Albert and Rafael, Jr.

Services will be Monday at 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
