Carla Ann Bentley

Carla Ann (Weidner) Bentley, 57, passed away October 25, 2014 in her Muhlenberg Township home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Robert Clarence Bentley, Jr., whom she married almost 33 years ago on December 5, 1981.

Born June 16, 1957 in Reading she was a daughter of Marvine Joyce (Garman) Weidner, Muhlenberg Township, and the late Carl James Weidner.

She was a 1976 graduate of Oley Valley High School.

Carla was the head cook for Muhlenberg Middle School, working for the district for over 20 years. She loved her job and was also a member of SNAPPA, volunteering her time and efforts whenever she could.

She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township, where she served on council.

Carla enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and taking care of her family. She was a wonderful daughter, a loving wife, and a perfect mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her three children: Nathanial J., husband of Sarah Bentley, Blandon; Robbi L. Bentley, Reading; and Ashley Jade Bentley, Bern Township. Also surviving are her sister, Diane Petry, Oley; and her one grandchild: Bianca M. Martinez.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave., Laureldale. Viewings will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main St., Oley; and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
