Carl Elmer Zerbe, 84, of Reading, died April 10, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was the husband of Hazel M. (Elliott) Zerbe.
Born in Mohnton, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mabel Zerbe.
He was employed by Maier's Bakery for over 41 years.
Carl was an avid golfer and enjoyed league bowling.
He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Reading.
Carl was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Jeffrey L. Zerbe, Cumru Township. Also surviving are his three step daughters: Carolyn M., wife of Barry L. Kemp, Exeter; Vivian D., wife of Steve Potter, AZ and Patricia D. Bernasconi, Upper Darby. Other survivors include his siblings: Alton, husband of Betty Zerbe, VA and Gerald Zerbe, Maidencreek. Seven step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren also survive him.
He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley and brother, Donald.
Services will be Monday at 12 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be from 11 to 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 336 Franklin St. West Reading, PA 19611.
