Carl E. Ritner, Sr., 84, of Wyomissing, died January 5, 2011 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Martha J. (Reinig) Ritner, to whom he was married on July 12, 1947.

Born in West Lawn, he was the son of the late George and Carolyn (Shirk) Ritner.

He was a graduate of Wilson High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

Carl was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII in the 16th Infantry, Anti-Tank Company.

He was an architect for over 30 years, working first for Muhlenberg Bros and later Gilbert Associates.

Carl was a former president of the Berks County Camera Club; and enjoyed playing golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Barbara R., wife of David Wenger, Lincoln Park; Carol R., wife of Mark Wisniewski, Sinking Spring; Carl E., Jr., husband of Rita, Port St. Lucie, FL; and Jenny L. Ritner, Pennside; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother, George Ritner, Jr.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Salvation Army, 301 S. 5th St., Reading, PA 19602 or American Red Cross, 701 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Edward J.
