Carl L. Powell

Carl L. Powell, Jr., 70, of Vista Road, Wyomissing, died May 13 at 10:45 p.m. in Reading Hospital where he had been since May 11.

His wife Ruth Ann (Seibert) Powell died July 28, 1995.

Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Ruth Ann and Carl L. Powell, Sr.

He was a superintendent of Parish Division of Dana Corp., Reading for 37 years until his retirement in 1988.

Powell played Varsity football and swam on the Varsity swim team at Hershey High School.

He was a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Lincoln Park, where he served as an Elder.

Survivors include 3 sons, Wayne L., West Reading, Craig A., West Lawn, Mark C., Green Valley and 4 daughters, Debra A. (Powell) Hoffmaster, Houston, TX, Cynthia (Powell) Zulli, Bethlehem, PA, Jennifer L. (Powell) Beltran, Houston, TX and Brenda L. (Powell) Fix, Fogelsville.

Other survivors include one sister Jean (Powell) Zartman, Hershey. There are also 10 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.

Services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private in Berks County Memorial Gardens. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Lung Association 2121 City Line Road Bethlehem, PA 18017-2100.
