Carl Luther Patches, 72, of Muhlenberg Township, died January 27, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township. He was the husband of Jeri P. (Harris) Patches. Born October 31, 1938 in Womelsdorf, he was a son of the late Luther Patches and Eva Patches-Kahl. He was employed as a tire mechanic with Kantner's Tire Service, Shoemakersville for 25 years before retiring in 1999. Carl was an avid hunter and loved watching movies. He is also survived by two sons: Patrick C. Patches of Mount Penn and Bradley C. Patches of Hamburg. In addition, there are four step children surviving: Roxann R. (Ruth) Miller of Sinking Spring, Russell R. Ruth of Houston, TX, Ruby M.E. (Ruth) Adams of Fleetwood and Mike H. Ruth of Muhlenberg Township. Other survivors include two sisters: Nancy Patches of Reading and Linda (Patches) Peters of Shoemakersville. There are also three grandchildren, five step grandchildren and a number of great step grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters: Patricia Patches and Ella Patches. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 am in Laureldale Cemetery, Rt. 61 and Tuckerton Road, with Rev. Dr. Brett J. Reider officiating. Walter R.
