Carl W. Brumbach, 93, passed away February 8, 2013 in his Alsace Township residence.
He was the widower of Mildred A. (Himmelreich) Brumbach.
Born in Oley Township, he was a son of the late Clarence G. and Elda C. (Kiefer) Brumbach.
Carl was a 1936 graduate of Oley High School.
He worked in the Berkshire Knitting Mill for 27 years and then worked for Met Ed for 20 years, retiring in 1983. After retirement he worked part time at the Christ Funeral Home, Oley, for 19 years.
Carl was a member of Zion Spies Evangelical Reformed Church.
He was also a member of Berks County Firemen's Association; the Oley Legion #878; a life member of Oley Fire Company; Pike Township Sportsmen's Association and the Oley Valley Fair Association, working several years at the refreshment stand.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Alice widow of Nevin Brumbach, Brunswick, Ga., step-daughter, Marion Zweizig, Reading. Also surviving are two nephews: Nevin D Jr., husband of Carol Brumbach, Reading and Conrad T., husband of Linda Brumbach, Brunswick, GA. Three step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandchild also survive him.
Carl was predeceased by his step daughter, Betty Lou Reider; and three siblings: Nevin Brumbach, Sr., Clarence Brumbach Jr. and Harold Brumbach.
Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Spies Church Cemetery.
