Carl W. Binkley, 91, passed away on March 16, 2024, at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Jacquelin (Kreitz) Binkley. They married on July 9, 1960 and shared 63 wonderful years together.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Goldman) Binkley. Carl graduated from Sinking Spring High School in 1950, and went on to receive his Associates Degree from Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute. He also served in the US Army 1953 to 1955.
He made his career as a tool maker and tradesman. He worked for Western Electric for 32 years until his retirement in 1992. He was also a devout member of St. John's Reformed Church. He was a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite, as well as the Isaac Hiester Lodge #660, where he also served as a past Master. He was a member of Rajah Shrine, and sang with the Rajah Chanters.
Carl was an avid fan of Philly sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. He will be remembered for his caring personality and the love he held for his family.
In addition to his wife, those left to cherish Carl's memory are his son, Bryan Binkley, husband of Jackie; and loving granddaughter, Sydney; and Godson, Jacob Geist. Carl was predeceased by his sister, Betty (Binkley) Huntzinger.
A Celebration of Carl's life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2 pm. at St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 W Penn Ave, Reading, PA 19608. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1 p.m. until the start of the service. A Masonic service will be held prior to celebration life. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
