Calvin Eugene Dietz

Calvin Eugene Dietz, 88, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away August 2, 2014 in Columbia Cottage, Spring Township.

He was the widower of Simone A. (Belaski) Dietz who died January 29, 1999.

Born June 26, 1926 in Laureldale, he was a son of the late Harvey and Clara (Rottmund) Dietz.

Calvin was employed as a chief inspector with Polymer Corp. for 38 years, retiring in 1989.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Calvin was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Muhlenberg Township.

He enjoyed woodworking and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and most importantly his grandchildren.

Calvin was a member of Central Fire Company Auxiliary, Northmont Fellowship Club and Quarter Century Club.

Surviving are his three children: Gail A., wife of Dale J. Bergman of Somers, NY; Cheryl A., wife of Joseph A. "Tony" Lupia, Jr., of Muhlenberg Township and Craig E. Dietz, friend of Don Obenrader of Houston, TX.

Other survivors include Mary Keiper of Laureldale, Arlene Claytor of Sun City West, AZ and Kenneth Dietz of Wernersville.

Additional survivors include his three grandchildren: Derek A. Lupia, Deidre A. Lupia and Deanna A. Lupia.

Calvin was predeceased by his grandson, Alexander J. Bergman who died July 9, 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C.C.., 3121 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
