C. Jeannette Morton

C. Jeannette Morton C. Jeannette Morton, 87, Reading, died Nov. 16 in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient for 12 days.

She was the wife of D. Herbert Morton.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Cleaver) Potteiger.

Morton was a 1935 graduate of Wyomissing High School and a graduate of Centenary College, Hackettstown, N.J.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton.

Morton was a volunteer at the Shillington Library from 1952 to 1972.

She was a former literary chairwoman for the Women's Club of Shillington.

Morton was volunteer chairwoman and past president and treasurer of the Shillington-Wyomissing Park Auxiliary of Reading Hospital.

She was an inspector of elections in Cumru Township for 28 years.

Surviving are two sons, Larry H., Hurley, N.Y., and Bruce K., Cumru Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Calvary UM Church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church North Church Street and Wyomissing Ave. Mohnton, PA 19540.
