Byron Paul Welch

Byron P. Welch, 76, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Penn State Health St. Joseph. Born February 11, 1942 in Reading, he was a son of the late James H. and Violet M. (Thomas) Welch. He was married to Ruth F. (Seyfert) Welch.

A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, Byron was head of shipping at Sealed Air Corporation, Reading, retiring in 2002.

In addition to his wife, Byron is survived by his stepsons Hugh C. and Gregory B. McCullough, his step grandchildren Rachel Zamora (Joe), Matthew M. McCullough, Stephanie Greenawalt (Adam), Michael McCullough, and Jodi Miller (Thomas), and his step great-granddaughter Hadlee Miller.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold J. and John T. Welch, and a sister Gladys Welch.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Byron's honor may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org.
