Bruce B. Kurzweg

Bruce B. Kurzweg, 80, Laureldale, died Oct. 28 at 6:05 a.m. in his residence.

He was the husband of June H. (Harvey) Kurzweg, Laureldale. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Philemon J. and Sulie B. (Bechtold) Kurzweg.

Kurzweg was employed as a regional salesman and consultant for The Economy Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1985. After his retirement he worked part-time for Prospectus-Berko, Reading. Later he worked part-time for both the Reading Hospital in their security department and for the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale.

He was a 1943 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Albright College, graduating in 1952. He was a member of the National Social Science Honor Society in 1952.

Kurzweg was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park, where he was a former Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Council Member.

Kurzweg was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving is a son, David B., Laureldale, and a daughter Brenda J. (Kurzweg) Hassler, Cumru Twp.

Other survivors include a sister, Joyce (Kurzweg) Laucks, Hyde Park.

There are also two grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville, PA. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. both at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Alsace Lutheran Church 2201 Kutztown Road Reading, PA 19605.
