Bruce J. Homan, 88, of Bern Township, formerly of South Temple, died April 2, 2009 at 7:32 p.m. in the Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 25th.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette W. (Dailey) Homan, whom he married on October 9, 1948 and a son, Jeffrey B. Homan, with whom he resided.
Born in Reading on May 5, 1920, he was a son of the late George D. and Kathryn S. (Carl) Homan.
Bruce worked for Rockwell International, formerly Textile Machine Works as s machine assembler for 41 years, retiring in 1984.
He was an army and Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II.
Bruce was a volunteer with the Appalachian Trail Conference, having maintained a section of the Appalachian Trail in Berks County for 25 years.
Additional survivors include his sister, Shirley J. (Homan), wife of Chester Bressler of Laureldale and two nieces and four nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by a brother Clyde M. Homan in 1989, and his two sisters, Dorothy M. Homan in 1954 and Myrtle F. Homan in 1923.
Graveside services will be private at St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Molltown at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
