Brock John Woerner, 40, of Lancaster, entered into rest March 8, 2010 in the Lancaster General Hospital.

He was married October 9, 2004 to Marites "Tessa" Blanza-Woerner.

Born in Reading on October 9, 1969, he was a son of Marvin R. and Carol Anne (Weaver) Woerner, of Temple.

He was a 1987 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 2008 graduate from Harrisburg Community College with a certification in Web Programming and Development and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Brock was a prominent drummer/musician of Berks and Lancaster Counties. He performed with familiar faces like Charlie Gracie, Frozen Poet and other great state and local musicians. In 2000, he formed the band Jazz Speak and performed locally and regional until 2006.

Brock was a drum teacher at various studios in Lancaster County. In 2002, he opened the doors of The Lancaster Musical Education Center and taught over 200 students through the years. He was a mentor and inspiration to his students, young and old.

He was also employed three years as an Online Media Manager with Boscov's. He was also a freelance photographer.

He was a member of the First Church of God, Lancaster.

He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Virginia S. (Bowman), widow of Robert G. Weaver, of Temple and is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Mary R. (Adams), widow of Ray N. Woerner and Herbert C. Vandergrift of Bern Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Bryon H., husband of Sharon M. (MacDonough) Woerner of Temple and their children, Heather L., Rachel S., Cody N. and Shana M.; three aunts, several cousins, the Blanza family and his beloved cat, James Brown.

Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Friday evening 6:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
