Brian W. Keener

Brian William Keener, 59, of South Heidelberg Township, died December 30th at 12:35 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since Thursday.

He was the husband of Kathleen (Doyle) Keener.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Betty Mae (Sheetz) Keener of Myerstown, Lebanon County and the late William Ruben Keener.

He was a 1964 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School.

Keener was a Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was employed 32 years as a Forge Operator at Carpenter Technology, Reading, retiring June 2005.

He is also survived by three sons, Thomas W. of Pottstown, Montgomery County, Matthew B. of King of Prussia, Montgomery County and Scott M. at home.

Other survivors include a brother, David A. Keener of SuWanee, Georgia and a sister, Susan D. (Keener) Smoot of Vinton, VA.

There are also two grandchildren, Victoria Keener and Declan Keener both of Pottstown.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:00am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Viewing Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown National Cemetery, Annville. Contributions may be made to the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, 11 Museum Drive, Reading, Pa 19605.
