Bradley S. Schroeder, 46, of Brecknock Twp., died February 17, 2007 at 11:36 p.m. in Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore, MD where he had been a patient for 2 weeks. He died of complications from cancer.

He was the husband of Diane M. (Scheuer) Schroeder, employed by Baldwin Hardware Corp., Reading, PA.

Born in Alpena, Michigan, he was a son of Faye Monette, York, and Gary Schroeder, York. He is also survived by Gary's wife, Lois Ann Schroeder.

He was a graduate of Lehigh University in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.

Brad was a first employed as a primary supplier of nuclear propulsion systems to the United States Navy for Babcock & Wilcox Co., Nuclear Equipment Division, Barbarton, OH, where he held the position of Metallurgical Quality Assurance Engineer. From 1987 to 1990 he worked for Tube Methods, Inc./Johnson Test Laboratories, Bridgeport, PA. He specialized in superalloy tubing for aerospace and pressure gage industries. His titles included Quality Assurance Manager/Chief Metallurgist-Tube Methods, Inc. and General Manager-Johnson Test Laboratories.

Brad continued his career with Cambridge-Lee Industries, Reading Tube Division, Reading, PA from 1990 to 2002. He was the Vice President of Quality and Engineering. Later he was a Minority Owner/Vice President Quality, Engineering and Commercial Sales for Manchester Copper Products, LLC, Cape Canaveral, FL until 2004. Most recently he was employed as Director of Engineering and Quality for Kalas Manufacturing in Denver, PA.

His interests included family activities especially his children's sports. He also enjoyed exercising, traveling, woodworking and reading.

Brad was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Mohnton.

He is also survived by his daughter, Alexis Schroeder, a 10th grade student at Holy Name High School and his son Paul Schroeder an 8th grade student at Governor Mifflin Middle School. Brad is survived by his maternal grandfather, Elwood Monette, Alpena, Michigan. There are three brothers: Brian, husband of Silvia Schroeder, Clifton Park, NY; Bruce, husband of Heather Schroeder, York, PA; and Jake Schroeder, York, PA; and one sister, Debbie Schroeder, Red Lion, PA.

Brad is also survived by his in-laws, Joseph and Joan Scheuer, Wildwood Crest, NJ and seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Scheuer, Broomall, PA; Teresa (Scheuer) Roberts, Cape May Court House, NJ; John Scheuer, Narvon, PA; Mark Scheuer, West Chester, PA; Matt Scheuer, Bryn Mawr, PA; Janet (Scheuer) Savell, Bethlehem, PA; and Maura Scheuer, Jersey City, NJ. Brad was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Colleen Scheuer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Conshocken. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
