Bonita (Bonnie) Jean (Rhine) Adams was born on November 29, 1950 in Reading Pennsylvania, the only daughter to the late Anna Cleone (Fisher) Rhine Koffel and Benjamin Paul Rhine, and passed from this earth to her longed for Heavenly home on July 8, 2021 at age 70 years, in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. Bonnie grew up in the Hamburg, Pennsylvania area and spoke often of favorite early childhood memories, on a farm near Berne, along with her only brother, David. She graduated from Hamburg High School and worked various jobs in her lifetime. Bonnie had a challenging childhood and faced many extremely difficult situations in her adult years also. Bonnie lived the later half of her life in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
After claiming Christ as her Savior, Bonnie considered it a privilege to serve in her church in many roles. She was in her element when singing praises to her Lord. Bonnie claimed Christ to anyone she encountered. Instead of the usual, "I love you", she would say, "the Jesus in me loves you!" be it to her children and grandchildren, to the cashier at Walmart or to the driver of a car stopped at the red light beside her. Bonnie said, "Merry Christmas!" year-round, along with the explanation that His birth needed celebration every day. Bonnie liked to cook in quantity and the entire neighborhood knew where they could find a meal! She knew how to make the meals stretch and made sure nobody left hungry, despite often having little to give. She also assisted many mothers in need by caring for their young children - a significant number of adults in Schuylkill County remember "Ma Adams." Bonnie was a left-handed artist and enjoyed varied crafts. She made thousands of plastic canvas hearts and crosses, giving them out to anyone she met, along with a blessing. Suffice it to say, Bonnie never met a stranger!
She is survived by her 5 children and 21 grandchildren: son Lester and wife Jennifer Adams and grandson Lester Isaac Adams, daughter Anna Hallis, daughter Shannon Adams and grandchildren Vivia, Michael and Benjamin Kriner, daughter Deneice Nelson and grandchildren Dakota, Lars, Jade and Alexus Nelson and son Daniel and fiancé Misty Hodgson and grandchildren Josslyn, Elizabeth, Daniel Jr, Logan, Drayven, Emily, Apollo, Myrddin, Khalan, Makenna, Alice, Tatiana and Kara.
