Blanche Betty Dewald

Blanche "Betty" Dewald, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Berks Heim on September 30, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Jesse F. Dewald, who passed away in 2005.

Born in Frackville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ethel (Curnow) Greene.

Betty worked for many years as a cook at the Iris Club of Wyomissing, retiring in 1985. Even in her later years, she enjoyed staying active and continued cleaning homes, a job that allowed her to remain busy and connected with others.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Janice (Dewald) Myskowski of Cumru Township, Deborah (Dewald) Hiester of Shillington, and Cynde (Dewald) Frankhouser of Newmanstown; her grandchildren, Jessica Kochel (Matt) of Quakertown, Sheldon Hiester and Shane Hiester, both of Shillington, Nichole Wedge (Chris) of Mechanicsburg, and Ryan Frankhouser of Newmanstown; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Carter Kochel and Liam Wedge. She is also survived by three nieces, Elly, Zelle and Jaelyn.

Betty will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, her strong work ethic, and her desire to remain active and independent throughout her life.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
