Blanca Sanchez

Dr. Blanca (Secades) Sanchez, 87, formerly of Wynnewood, Pa., died of natural causes August 14th in Country Meadows, Wyomissing.

She was the widow of Pio Sanchez, who died September 16, 2004.

Born in Havana, Cuba, she was a daughter of the late Victoriano and Rita (Pintado) Secades.

She was a member of Presentation of the Virgin Mary, Ardmore.

Sanchez was a graduate of the University of Havana and served her residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

She was employed as a physician for 15 years at MiSericordia Hospital, Philadelphia before retiring in 1989.

Sanchez is survived by a daughter, Maria E. (Sanchez) Smith of Wyomissing.

Other survivors include two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Services and burial will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
