Beulah A. Stitzel

Beulah Amanda (Naftzinger) Stitzel, 97, formerly of 211 State Street, Hamburg and the Wyndcliffe Apartments, died August 6, 2011 in Berks Heim, where she had been a residence since November 27, 2007.

Born May 29, 1914 in Tilden Township, she was the only child of William A. and Clara A. (Seaman) Naftzinger.

She was a graduate of Hamburg High School.

Beulah was employed as an examiner for 10 years with Wright's, Hamburg and another 28 years in the same capacity with Burkey Knitting Mills, before retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg.

Beulah is survived by two sons; William G. husband of Anne M. (Liss) Stitzel of Windsor Township and Richard A. Stitzel, husband of Eileen M. (Muschko) McKemy-Stitzel of Wyomissing.

Other survivors include three grandchildren; Amy L. (Stitzel), wife of Brian K. Miller of Spring Township; Matthew J., husband of Rebecca J. (Simon) Stitzel of Spring Township and Meg B. (Stitzel), wife of Matthew Rosenberg of Chesterfield, Virginia.

There is also a step grandson surviving; Christopher P., husband of Tina (Hoffman) Boas of Mount Penn.

Beulah is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; Dustin Miller, Caitlyn Miller, Sarah Stitzel, Jacob Stitzel, Grant Donghia, Jack Miller, Ethan Stitzel, Matthew Stitzel, Conner Donghia, Annabelle Rosenberg and Molly Rosenberg and three step great grandchildren; Ashley E. Boas, Brittney A. Boas and William T. Boas.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Beth Anne (Stitzel) Donghia, who died March 26, 2011; a daughter-in-law, Mary Anne (Kuhn) Stitzel, who died November 27, 2004 and a step grandson; John J. Boas, who died May 26, 1993.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 99 Church St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Church.
