BEULAH F. (MARTIN) COOPER

"Marty" Cooper died Oct. 16, 2008, at the age of 95, in Wyomissing, PA.

Born in Cambridge City, Indiana on February 13, 1913, Marty was the youngest child of Oliver and Bessy Martin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Martin, and two sisters, Sophrona Martin Lamb and Ruby Martin. She completed high school and training as a nurse in Indiana before heading west to Los Angeles where she met and married Paul, of Chicago, IL. They married in 1934 and were married for 44 years.

As the wife of a career army officer during and following World War II, Marty traveled the world living in many places, including Occupied Japan, France, Illinois, Los Angeles and San Francisco. After the death of her husband, Lt. Col. Paul D. Cooper, in September of 1978, Marty moved to Wyomissing. She lived the last twenty years of her life at the Highlands of Wyomissing.

Marty is survived by Priscilla (Cooper) Doman of Flagstaff, AZ and Lynne (Cooper) Roberts of Wyomissing, PA. She is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. At Marty's request there will be no services. Her ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean joining her beloved husband.
