Betty A. Weitzel

Betty A. Weitzel, 77, Temple, formerly of Reading, died March 15 at 3:50 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient four weeks.

She was the wife of Ralph R. Weitzel.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mamie (Bohn) Fletcher.

Weitzel was employed by White Trucking, Muhlenberg Township; Pomeroy's Department Stores in Reading and Wyomissing; and Harris Associates, Reading. She was last employed by Boscov's Department Stores, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1989.

A 1946 graduate of West Reading High School, she attended the McCann School of Business, Reading.

Weitzel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, West Reading.

She is also survived by two sons, Thomas R., Ephrata, and Richard A., Denver, Colo.; and two daughters, Nancy J. and Karen J. Weitzel, both of Temple.

Other survivors include a sister, Patricia Fletcher, Reading; and two granddaughters.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery.
