Betty J. Trowbridge

Betty J. Trowbridge, 92, of West Wyomissing, passed away December 30, 2013 while under hospice care in her own home.

Her husband, William D. Trowbridge, died April 12, 1985.

Born October 6, 1921 in Reading she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Miller) Brown.

She was a 1938 graduate of Reading High School and a 1948 graduate of Kutztown University.

Betty was a teacher for the Reading School District for one year and the last 24 years of teaching where spent in the Wilson School District. She taught Kindergarten her entire career, retiring in 1982.

Upon retiring Betty got involved in many organizations including Christian Women's Club, Retired Teachers Association and Ladies Auxiliary of Green Valley Country Club. She also served on the board of directors of the Green Valley Country Club.

Betty was a member of Immanuel U.C.C., Shillington.

She is survived by her two sons: William, husband of Caren Trowbridge, Lancaster and Rick, husband of Molly Trowbridge, Mohnton. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Shannon, Shane, Jesse, and Kate and ten great-grandchildren.

Betty will be sadly missed by family, friends and the thousands who at the age of six may have entered a school for the first time only to be met by Betty's smiling face and friendly demeanor.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Immanuel U.C.C., Shillington. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery.
