Betty Showalter

Betty M. (Fisher) Showalter, 85, passed away April 21, 2016, in her Shillington residence.

Born in Sinking Spring, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah (Rothermel) Fisher.

Her husband, Harold Showalter, passed away on March 25, 1992.

She was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School and Bryland Beauty School.

Betty was the owner and operator of Betty's Beauty Shop for ten years. She later worked for Bachman's Food for 15 years before retiring in 1984.

She is survived by two sisters: Joyce, wife of Paul Speece, Sinking Spring; and Linda, wife of Bernard Trupp, Sinking Spring.

Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy, widow of Gerald Giansanti; and two brothers: Warren Fisher and Merlin Fisher.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Online condolences can be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
