Betty L. Maltby

Betty L. Maltby, 78, of Seminary Avenue, Muhlenberg Township, formerly of El Hatco Drive, Temple, died Aug. 24 in St. Joseph Medical Center, where she had been a patient for one week.

Her husband, James A. Maltby, died Oct. 6, 1996.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Estella M. (Clemens) Kline.

Maltby had been employed for 25 years by Western Electric Co., Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple, where she had served as a former treasurer and trustee.

Maltby was a graduate of Mount Penn High School.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald B., and Terrance J., both of Reading.

Other survivors include a brother, George Kline, Ocean City, N.J.; and a sister, Gerry (Kline) Phillips, Harrisburg.

There are also three step-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, 402 North Temple Blvd., Temple, 19560. Viewing 12:30 until time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the church. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements.
